Sorry it's taken me so long to remember to get back here to finish reading your tale.

River shook her head, tears running down her face. “I can't... I can't... I can't remember now.” Oh no, what a shame, I didn't say.

In fact, I love the idea of her timeline being completely re-written thanks to Eight. And thank you for letting us avoid that manic flight back down to the core to save River to the computer by having PC's Doctor do it instead. Wonderful!

It's okay. There's still one more after this one. And then more stories in the works. *hugs*

The tragedy is that she's finally seeing what he tried to teach her, the Doctors she knew best. And now she knows how much she failed him and herself. Another reader (I think at A03) commented on how much more tragic her fate is here, and I suppose it had to be that way given what her actions in canon - to me - say about her.

Welcome. And I HAD to include PC's Doctor. I find I'm loving writing interactions between the Doctors. :D
