That's kind of how I felt about Achebe being included in AP English. However....there is one excellent work that came out about 6 years ago called "Death of a Chinese Heroine." So I read it in 8th grade and didn't understand all of it, but it's a good read...murder mystery involving politics and sex. I recommend it.
