this is why I rarely tell my mother about what I'm writing anymore. not because I don't want her to know about fanfic or that I'm worried she'll want to read it (I mean, come on, I've written fic for her before) but because she has this habit of telling other people vaguely that I'm a "writer" and then they ask me what I'm working on. I have to try and scrounge around my head for something original that I had recently started.

lol Yeah, I just changed the subject to the novel I have actually finished and is original and does not include superheroes making out and stuff. Hopefully she just forgets about it. It's always so awkward when people (who are not into it) find out you read/write slash fanfiction...

I tell people I'm writing, but I never tell them what. If they ask to read it, I just answer "I write for me, not other people."
