Tim wasn’t normally in the business of talking down crazy people. He was there to do a job, to save the hostage, and any other day, that would mean shooting the gun out of the suspect’s hand and being done with it. Today, however, he was playing by the FBI’s rules, much to his chagrin.
The situation was de-escalating and as Tim subtly moved to wipe the sweat from his brow, he whispered, “Now!”
An explosion rocked the square, distracting the suspect and giving the hostage the opportunity to wrestle free.
She bolted and Tim was instantly moved to action.
