Oooh, that's a heavy burden there, if any of them die. He has to know SOME of them will die, so that's kinda like him telling Ryder either way, he won't live.

Brazen, beautiful beast. I really like that.

It's strange to see your characters and mine meeting up like this. It's a striking contrast, and definitely interesting.

I get the impression that Atticus is just being so painfully honest. He doesn't have much reason to believe that anybody will survive contesting Kaius, given that none of his people ever have, and he certainly won't suffer the deaths of his own.

I love that he gives them the choice, though. He doesn't assign them to this work, he tells them that it's up to them to pledge their lives to Ryder's insane cause.

You are a brazen, beautiful beast, Ryder Athari. I really love it, too - it's such a lovely, backhanded compliment. In his conversation with Katrina, Atticus refers to Ryder as an embarrassment - I wonder if he sees him as something less than human, instead of more than.

I love seeing them interacting. And Colin's little snort. He's so opinionated, that big blonde know-it-all. *smirks*

You know, the way that Atticus keeps referring to them as junglekin says to me that he doesn't view then as up to his level. Especially when he told Kat to call HIS people family, but refused her when she asked him to call Ryder by the proper term.

Heh Colin. I got a kick out of that, the opinionated dingus.
