This will not be lj-cut. This was specifically found and posted for koriirok and musiconmywings. Not because they requested it, but because I believe it is high time they read and think about it. If they, or you the reader, have any questions as to what the rhetorical style is for this particular work ... do not hesitate to ask or consult ... The Screwtape Letters @ Read more... )

"When we are inwardly curved in upon ourselves, when all we see is our own rights, our own desires, our own pain, our own justice ... perhaps it is enough for God's grace in the love of friends, in the warmth of shelter, in the comfort of music, in the Bread and the Wine ... to free us from the bondage of this inward curve ... to be free to be. Just be .... to not be as the past pushes ... to not be as the future pulls ... to just be as God has redeemed us to be in the present ( ... )

Well, once again I'm rather humbled and shocked. Both of these are because something I've written ... helps ... in some way. I didn't ever dream that it would ... expecting a internet-typical 'omgwtf don't type that oh noes!' response.

I think Sarah wants to check out The Golden Compass ... so I'll probably end up reading that too.

I am definitely down for talking with you about this whole 'laying things down' issue. There's a lot that comes to my mind as I read your response ... how would you like to do this? LJ messaging? Comment-conversation?

I'm down for whatever. Screwtape is entirely online, I can link you up if you want ... but books are definitely much better in these matters for the tactile page turning, margin notes, and being able to curl up to read.

Let me know what you'd like to do about talking about all this.

I'm printing that section off that I just quoted back to you, and am going to put it on my desk. :)
