I just love your Sai and Yamato, and Sai's working out of these feelings is simultaneously cute and a little heartbreaking. I found myself wondering how he would deal with everything if Yamato didn't come back. Wonderful work!

Perfect. That's kind of my overall reaction to Sai in general, so I'm glad that comes through.

I don't even want to imagine what would happen to Sai if Yamato didn't come back. Probably he'd end up regressing, maybe not completely but a lot - trying to deal with the emotional fallout of his attachment to Yamato would likely 'prove' to his grieving mind that Root's teachings were wise and he should return to them. In such a case, though, I'd like to think that the rest of his team would be able to help ground him, keep him from retreating too far inside himself.

Argh. Dammit. This makes me consider writing a fic where Sai has to deal with Yamato's death, except that I really really don't want to. Y'know? ^_^;;
