Why Use the Word "Gate" to Indicate a Scandal?
It's intensely irritating. I was just coming out of my Yahoo e-mail and learned that Jessica Simpson's alleged weight gain is being called "Weight Gate," and this was the last straw for me.

Moving Rip-Offs
I just spoke to a friend who moved over the weekend, and things did not go well because of the damn movers she hired. She's very upset right now.

Why I Hate Shopping for Footwear
Last week my winter boots fell apart.
They were in no way pretty, but they did their job, which was to a) keep my feet dry; and b) keep me from falling on my ass while walking on ice.
