Good for you. I wanted to go very badly, but I have, ironically, my archaeology sequence to finish. :(

I take it this isn't the part of Sudan with the unrest and other unpleasantries, then.

It's supposed to be a pretty remote area, far removed from the major problems that are taking place in the Darfur region. There is some minor local unrest related to the dam project (part of the reason the OI is digging there in the first place -- it's salvage archaeology) which is forcing a lot of the residents in the area to relocate. But we're hoping that this won't become a major issue.
