TWC NY don't believe it. I alone have spoke to the 34 TWC customer in NYS trying to get them to change the TWC NYCr CCIByte policy. All 34 Plus my self 35 total have had very similar issues to the NYT reported did. Most popular problem is when a cablecard becomes unregistered a in home visit is required to correct issue. Also heard things like TivoHD don't support TWC HD signal you need one of our boxes to get HD. One person heard "How dare you remove shopping channels from you guide. Your cable package is cheaper because those channels are in your lineup. Put them back or we are canceling yor service"
I know that when I ordered the self-install Cablecard from Brighthouse, yes, they did include the Cisco tuner to get the SDV (and yes, they *did* provide my roommate with incorrect prices)
what they "forgot"? the usb cable to connect the tuner to the TiVo. Not everyone happens to have multiple USB cables laying around.
at least they didn't charge for the tech to come out. (pre-self install, they wanted to charge $50 for a tech to roll out)
and they did give me a month free rent on the card.
but I did have to ask for the promotion for the tuner, they didn't put it on automatically.
