CNET's Matthew Elliott Gives Up On Comcast TiVo

In what can't be a good sign for the progress of the TiVo software for Comcast, CNET's Matthew Elliott has posted in their Crave blog that he's finally given up in frustration and returned to using the standard non-TiVo Comcast DVR. I have to wonder how much of the problems were TiVo, and how much were actually Comcast. In my experience, the quickest way to screw something up is to get Comcast involved.

TiVo should try to end run the cable companies and go stright to the cable box DVR makers. If TiVo could get a hold of the hardware at the root level it would probably make things way easier. As I have said before they should do the same to satalite companies and their box makers. Eventually they could just become the de facto standard and everyone would use TiVo.
