CableCARD Continues To Struggle In Consumer Devices

In a filing yesterday with the FCC on the current status on CableCARD deployments the NCTA revealed that there have been a total of over 374,000 CableCARDs deployed for use in Unidirectional Digital Cable Products (UDCPs), such as the TiVo HD, by the ten largest cable MSOs, which cover roughly 90% of US cable subscribers. It would also make me wonder a bit about the sales of the TiVo HD, since I'd expect nearly all of those to have at least one M-Card CableCARD.

So far, I'm still sticking with Comcast analog even after replacing my Humax DVD-burning TiVo with a TiVo HD several months ago. I've been sorta holding out for Comcast to carry SPEED TV in HD.

(Does anyone know good ways to pressure folks like Comcast to hurry up on rolling out particular HD channels?)

my local Cable company has installed 270 cable cards since jan 1, 08.
In Media Centers, Tivo S3, Tivo HD, private tuners, and TV's
