TiVo FCC filings

User dt_dc posted about this at TiVoCommunity.com. TiVo has filed in opposition to two petitions, one from Charter and one from Verizon. There is a pending FCC requirement that would force all cable operators to use CableCARD on their own boxes, and Charter petitioned for a waiver on "low-cost, limited capability" boxes. If the FCC denies the waivers, what's the current deadline for cable companies like Charter Communications to upgrade their cable systems to be CableCard capable?

I'm meeting with some Charter executives later today, and I intend to bring this up ...

It's not that Charter is not CableCard capable (they are), this is about requiring Charter and other providers to make their own set-top boxes CableCard devices.
