I just got home, and I have to say the reading was fantastic. I know we all love Jo (some of us only pretend), but Stephen King and John Irving stole the show. I have to thank
heidi8 for the awesome tickets. I was sitting smack in the middle, 15 rows from the stage.
There were some lovely people there, including
bethbethbeth,
starrysummer,
ziasudra,
midnitemaraud_r,
cedarlibrarian,
limmenel,
wildegirl_05,
idlerat, and others I can't remember at the moment.
However the highlight for the Potter fans were the questions.
Things she said outright:
1. She still doesn't have a definite title. In fact she thought of a title today, but it's proof that she doesn't quite have the right one.
2. Petunia will have a very important part in Book 7.
3. Dumbledore is dead, but he will have an important role in book 7 (Portrait, me thinks)
4. Severus Snape is GOOD.
Edit because
midnitemaraud_r remembers name better than me. The last 2 were the result of a question by Salman Rushdie (and his son). He said that he believed that Snape and Dumbledore were working together and Albus's death was a hoax. He finished saying something like "in my opinion, Snape is good."
She answered, "And your opinion is right, but I feel I need to make one thing clear about Dumbledore, he is dead."
Everyone focused on the Dumbledore is death part, but the
nyc_hpslashers had a collective orgasm.
Thing she said without thinking: the trio WILL survive. I don't think she even noticed saying it, and most people didn't even catch it. She was asked which 5 characters she'd invite to dinner. She said: Harry, Ron, and Hermione.... can't tell you the others because I know you dies.
EDIT AGAIN: She did say that there are '7-8 vital things that you can't guess at'.
The woman really needs to stop answering questions, although I love the spoilers.
I promise a Lumos post will come soon enough.
