Can anyone tell me if there's a purpose to goodreads beyond bragging about what books you've read? I am sincerely asking and not trying to be a sarcastic ass.

When I joined, I figured it'd be good for seeing what the people who like what I like have read that I haven't, but in practice, eh.

It seems like a good way to keep track of books you are intending to read and books that others might recommend.
