So instead of reading for class, I've been thinking.  I don't think anyone read that post I put up from Planned Parenthood.  But recent events have put my brain in motion.

Or what I mean is, lack of the right parenting or lack of financial means to raise a child could end up seriously hurting the child in the long run, perhaps to the point where it could harm or kill the child over time.

You summed it up nicely. I think that's one of the biggest points, and yet so many people seem to completely ignore it. Meh.
