I always notice that building as I walk to yours from the train station. I always read it as 'Classifieds' though. Like the 'Temple Quarter' renovation, nothing ever looks like it's being done there. Stagnant & failed. I notice it was boasting of it's floorspace for ages, then eventually a demolition sign was put up, & some of the upper thick-glassed windows had been smashed.
Also I always notice the miniature pub on the end of Classifieds, the 'Typist's Devil' or whatever strange name it's called. It looks like it could fit about 3 people in it.
You haven't had any sun?! The past couple of weeks have been cloudless blue skies with blazing sun down here outside the pollution zone!
I like the idea of an entire building filled with classified ads, ideally with little photos attached. Someone should make a kind of art exhibit by printing and sticking up every entry on bristol.gumtree.
The pub is the Printer's Devil, so called because it's right near the press used by the Bristol Evening Post. There are some very small pubs around the centre of bristol. The King's Head, favoured haunt of DAS senior management, is a good example, with room for probably no more than two dozen people at a squeeze.
