[open post of crackiness]

As a result of Draco's charm, the Lynet who walks at a brisk pace down the path from the Mansion to the Orkney cottage is almost unrecognizable as Lynet. It's amazing what a smile can do. Anyone who might stop her on the way would, under normal circumstances, get a tongue-lashing -- but today, who knows?

Sagramore doubletakes. "My lady?"

"My lord!" And she, well, smiles. "Good day."

"Good day," he says, although his wariness isn't obvious in his manner. "How does my lady?"

Rather than immediately insisting that she is no lady of his, Lynet politely replies, "Well, I thank you." Clearly, she has been possessed by devils or aliens.

Hadley-Bright does not go often to the woods, but chance would have it that he is traversing that particular path on this particular day. Passing Lynet, he offers a polite bow and his most charming smile. The charm he cannot help.

While under normal circumstances, Dame Lynet would return his bow with a grimace and keep going, or stop only to mock him, today she pauses to curtsy and smile back.

"Good morning!"

'And to you, miss,' he replies, the smile broadening. 'Captain William Hadley-Bright, at your service, miss.'

"And I am Dame Lynet," she answers courteously, her own smile growing as well. "From your clothes, I take it we are not so far-removed in our home eras as I am from so many who reside here, though not so close as others, either."

So! Suppose that when she gets back to the cottage there's a little folded note tucked into the door, and that when it is opened one will find within, in Gaheris' crooked, tilting handwriting:

Lady. if you will see me, I'll wait at the edge of the woods by the stream. I'll wait. you've no need to come-- if you will.

It is fortunate that she is still charmed into niceness by Draco's spell, or she would have an entirely different reaction to the note. But, however she may feel about it, the nice thing to do is certainly to go meet her husband by the stream, as written.

He's waiting skittishly, pacing a little, somewhat dishevelled--honestly terrified, and very unsure.

She comes up behind him, stopping several feet away.

"Gaheris?"
