The only real-life people I have on my friends list are ex-lovers who know me in and out already (heh). I'm not sure I could ever let a childhood friend in, or a member of my family...I'm not that brave.

Maybe you are relieved because it's a personal part of you that you wanted to keep personal but also wanted to be forthcoming about it and she didn't reject you for it? I feel so privelidged to be a part of your LJ and your virtual life.

Most of my RL friends would find LJ bewildering to them...

I'm oddly relieved, without any idea why.

I have a hard time explaining LJ to people, too. From the non-computer folks I get questions like, "What do you find to talk about for so long? Don't you get tired of being on a computer after looking at one all day for work?" and so forth. ;)
