chain of fools

I am not an extreme couponer. But when it comes to coupons, I try and find a good deal when I see one. Last week Harris Teeter had "Super double coupons". Which means they will double your coupon up to $1.98 in value. So all you see in the stores are women with trapper keepers full of coupons. It's insane. As for my self I have only a blue binder which is semi full of coupons. So last week on my day off, I decided to go grocery shopping, since we had nothing in the freezer for dinner and to see what kinds of specials they had. I made a list, which I try and follow, but I rear off towards the end and get more then I can carry home. Anyways, I ended up spending $44.18. My VIC savings were $38.15. And my grand total with my coupons doubling ended up being $74.33. This was the best shopping trip I ever had.

In other news, Seattle and I are half way done with working the RBC Center. It always seems that from September to February we have so many events. When March comes around we finally say phew that it's finally over with. As for me, I am trying to find a new job since Harris Teeter has been giving me grief. It seems they treat their employees disrespectful and tell every cashier to stand at their register at all times and wait on customers. What if you don't have any, can't we walk around and block some of the aisles? Or better yet, bag groceries at another cashiers register. Nope, they want us to stand like soldiers. Sorry for the rant, but this happens to me every day. There is a new Chick-fil-a opening up this week right across from our apartment complex. This is the first Chick-fil-a that is two stories high and has two drive thrus.

This is what it looks like:

Here in Raleigh, NC we only had one blast of snow which didn't last long. I kinda hope it did stick around for a few more days, but oh well. We've been getting some mild weather which is rare around here. Highs been in the mid to upper 60's and sunny. This is not a normal winter for us, but then again, who knows what will happen in March. One more thing before I forget, my sister DQ and her husband John Deere are expecting their first child sometime soon. Maybe even next month. Can't wait to be an Aunt!
