This is probably not all that relevant to anyone who doesn't live in Finland, but I just have to write about it because there aren't words to describe how angry this is making me.

I kind of can't really believe this is actually happening.

Gay excorsisms...? That's, well it's the kind of thing I tend to think only happens in fiction. Or I really want to believe that.

I can't stop feeling sick. I'm just trying not to think about it, because there are things I actually need to do.

"If murderers can be cured, why not gays?"

That is sickening and absolutely horrible. We have so many groups like that here in the US, and they make me sick.
All those resignations from the Evangelic Lutheran Church since this anti-gay campaign began are really worrisome. I'm hoping hard that this movement doesn't gain any more power in your country.

It might not seem relevant to people outside Finland, but as far as I'm concerned, this sort of thing is relevant to anyone who believes in acceptance and tolerance.

That sentence is really all I need to know about the whole campaign. Usually I don't feel comfortable judging something on the basis of what's mostly second hand information, but anyone who supports that sort of statment... yeah, that's just sick.

I've heard about things like this in other countries and mostly I think my feelings have mostly been a sort of disbelief that that sort of thing happens and then thinking to myself that at least it wouldn't happen here...

The way it sounds now I think the campaign will be shut down, which I'm thankfull for. It is sad if people are resigning from Church because they think the Church is responsible for something it isn't. But at least some people I think might be resigning because they don't want to be affiliated with a faith that would do something like this completely unrelated to which branch of the faith is responsible. And despite the fact that the majority of Finns belong to the Church we're a very secular country and for a lot of people resigning from the Church isn't a very big

I'm glad that at least this campaign isn't being lauded by high up officials in the church!
Argh, makes me angry that people feel they have to make other peoples lives miserable because they can't open their tiny minds.

I think they shut down the campaign voluntarily because they were surprised by the overwhelmingly negative response. Did they really expect something else?

good!

i guess the kind of people who would organise that assume that everyone shares their views, since they live in some kind of bubble
