pills for the rest of my life, now I feel old

Feb 13, 2011 13:36

Now that I'm feeling more myself again, head's a bit clearer and I'm not reeling over my sister's diagnosis I thought I'd actually explain why I've been absent for so long.

So. Yes. I've been in the hospital for about two weeks. Got released on Friday. I'm now officially diagnosed with Crohn's disease. The link goes to the wikipedia entry for it, ( Read more... )

I've a good friend with Crohns, so I know that you can live with it. She says it's a bitch at times, but otherwise she's been like anybody else really since I met her five years ago.

Still wishing you and your sister the best of luck. *hugs*

I know some people with the same thing. Just never really thought much about it before now. One of my older relatives has had huge trouble with it all her life, whereas I never even knew that one of my sister's friends has Crohns until I got my diagnosis and my sister pointed it out. I suppose it depends on the person and how well you take care of yourself.

And thanks. Last week wasn't a very good one for the family, but things are slowly getting back to normal.

Awww bb ;_; I hope you feel better. My aunt has Crohn's, and I know she's been able to manage it pretty well.

Feeling loads better now than I did a couple of weeks ago and it's getting a bit better every day. And now that I know that I have Crohn's hopefully it'll never get that bad again.

At least now I know what to do to hopefully never let this thing get quite that bad again.

Oh, yeah our story... ^^; Thanks for letting me know. I did wonder. Yeah, I'd probably like to see it before posting. Just to see if I object hugely to something. :P

Oh, I should definitely be able to do that. Can't promise to have too many actual suggestions... :)

*hugs* I'm glad you're better now and out of the hospital again bb.

I'm sure you'll be able to manage it just fine and wont have many problems.

I'm sorry for you and your sister and wish you the best of everything! My aunt has MS and she is nearly 60 now, handling it pretty good so far even if it has gotten worse lately. But I'm sure with good doctors and the right meds you and your sister will be just fine.

*hugs again* Tell me if I can do anything to help you.

*hugs back* Thank you.

Personally I think I'll be fine, my thing is pretty easy to manage compared to what my sister has to deal with. But she's determined to live her life as well as she can no matter what and... well, she's an amazingly strong person.

Ah, my opinion of myself has never been so great, but that's probably normal for most people. :) Thank you!
