Where would be the best place to locate one? [He knows of the grocery store, but if there's a specialty shop nearby...] I appreciate the help.

[Konatsu never had the problems with death that Shuri does. The first time he'd ended someone's life he'd been a little ill, a little shaken up, but he's been acting in service to Hyuuga. For Konatsu's single-minded sense of duty, that was more than enough to curb a good deal of the trauma he felt over it. The next time it had been easier, and the next even easier, and now dealing out death -- in the middle of war, at least, because he's not about to test his tolerance in other fields -- is a fairly simple matter for him: he sets out, commits the deed, and once his mission is over he pays his respects to the dead.]

[But he's not inhumane, and he can understand why someone would all but completely lose their mind at the sight of another human's death -- especially a spoiled boy like Shuri. He's not without a degree of sympathy, either -- but mostly he goes to the other teenager's side out of duty. It's his responsibility to look after the only other Black Hawk present.]

[Ah, Konatsu understands.] He was in yuor class in the academy. [It's not a question.]

Everyone always treated him like he was something special. Like he was more than some dirty slave! Mikage, and Hakuren, they act like he's something important! It's not fair!

[Konatsu seems largely unfazed by Shuri's brief tirade.] Social standing won't protect you in battle. Many slaves can fight more efficiently and effectively than those of higher status. [And Teito has.... something else that makes him significant.]

I don't care. Everyone treated him like he was some sort of king. [ now you're just exaggerating, shuri. ]

[Calmly:] I never observed him receiving that sort of treatment.

You just haven't been around him long enough!

[Sigh.] Would you have preferred you be the one treated like royalty, then?

I wanted to be noticed!

You're not easy to not notice, Oak?

Here... they laugh, or they threaten!!

That's to be expected. no one here knows of the Oak family.

No one should, but everyone is at some point. Back home your status protected you from it, somewhat, but not even that is impenetrable.
