When Kame walks into work the next morning, he hears Jin’s voice, loud as ever, and already a sinking feeling is developing in his stomach. He seeks out whatever scene is about to unfold and finds it next to the display he’d arranged the day before.
“-ey, do you know how long it took the librarians to put those books into that formation?” Jin is pointing out to bewildered-looking teenagers that had a few of the books that belonged in the display in their hands. They scamper over to the table and put them back into the pattern, uneasily skittering away when Jin says, “Yeah, you’d better put those back exactly where they were.”
The girls look nervous but defiant. Obviously they don't know what a delinquent Jin is, or they would be very, very scared. Especially when Jin whips out the bat-squeak.
Kame coughs a little and goes up to Jin, his expression flat. “Jin.”
Jin whirls around. “Kame-”
“Jin, those books are in the display because we want people to borrow them ( ... )
