I have to talk about this, because WHAT. THEY'RE MAKING A RANMA 1/2 LIVE ACTION DRAMA SPECIAL?!?! if it ends up being good/getting high ratings, i bet they make it into a full drama.

I had a serious facepalm moment when I heard about this yesterday, and even more so with the fact that Aragaki is playing Akane. I totally agree with you - CANNOT SEE AT ALL. I can see Natsuna as female!Ranma and some of the other cast looks great but Aragaki as Akane?? Not happening. XD Hopefully they'll prove me wrong! I'm just interested to see how they're gonna make the very random gender-transformations happen. XD

RIGHT? I am totally hoping they prove me wrong like Ouran Host Club did when they got everything pitch-perfect even though i expected it to crash and burn. I mean, it's somewhat similar in that I totally thought Yamamoto Yusuke wouldn't work as Tamaki but he pulled it off amazingly. Maybe Aragaki will work!

I am also totally curious how the transformations will work! From Panda!father, cats and little guinea pigs. lolol

lol right?! that is SO TRUE. Ranma kept groping ppl (or herself) and i mean, ryoga was akane's pet pig and showered WITH her.

I am definitely excited for Rurouni Kenshin!!!!! I love that anime and the idea of Sato Takeru as Kenshin is intriguing~ As well as the rest of the cast. So I am definitely curious and I hope it's a good movie!

YES. THEY ARE MAKING A LIVE ACTION KENSHIN. I really did like this anime and hope they're able to keep in what made it so great (and great fight scenes ofc). I really wish they'd done it before though because I seriously think Koichi would've made a GREAT Kenshin (aka, his PV Kagen no Tsuki). *_____________* (But then it wouldn't be as great with CG--if needed anyway lol.) ::now gets the urge to rewatch so will::

oooh. they're making a drama sp out of the ONLY manga i've read XDD this is.. well, a MUST SEE!!

but like you said, i can't really picture gakki as akane O_O but maybe she will surprise us all. i hope so, cause it's gonna be so sad if the sp fails because of poor akane-acting. and i totally want to know who they have casted as shampoo too! i hope nobody cutesy-girl >__<; (and really, our of all the characters, who they will include in the sp...)^^

Oh! That's true. It is only a special so maybe they won't include certain charas. D: It'd make me sad if they cut out some of my favorites, but specials are usually only 2 hrs long so i guess.... DDDD:

yeah :D i think with this one it's good that i've read it beforehand. usually i think i'm just happy i'm not familiar with the manga, so i don't have any expectations about how the drama or the characters should be.. but ranma... XDD

well, i guess shampoo and ryoga are quite a must.. (ryoga for the fact that he WAS one of ranma's main competitiors and shampoo for the fact ranma was afraid of cats) XD but a person i'm most interested to see wheter they included him or not, and if they did, who will play him.. is definitely happosai XDDDD

agreed on aragaki yui as akane. i can see the girly ditziness a bit, but yui is definitely not tomboy material. then again, i really can't think of an actress i could see as akane...hmmm.

but ooooh. so interested to see who plays nabiki, shampoo and ukyo. and ryoga. AND MOUSSE.

just as long as inuyasha is never made into a live action drama i will be ok. :X

it's true. even if I don't see aragaki as akane, i can't really think of a better alternative. plus it's not even the tomboy part that i don't see--it's her being the aggressive, i will get you ranma if you grope me again, kind of thing. that could just be me. lol

YES. OMG. all these other charas! I hope they're even IN the series. DDDDD:

...LOL i can't imagine. that's a little too... genre-different for them to manage, I think. but then again, they are doing rurouni, but that isn't mystical like inuyasha, so probably would be more difficult to pull off. plus, i bet it would cost so much money to make.
