Ugh, I'm so sorry, Lisa. That is one of the things that aggravates me to no end, when people bring issues of race into situations that don't even come CLOSE to meriting such accusations, that people are still holding on to the biggotry of the past that most of us weren't even a PART of, yet they turn it around like you were the one who instegated it. It's not your fault that this man is so insecure that he has to lash out his anger on an undeserving person such as yourself who was just trying to do your job.

Honestly, if you had throttled him right then and there, I can't say I would have blamed you.

Ugh, that's ridiculous. Customers checking out are generally bitchy about things anyway (I used to work in retail), but that's going waaaay over the line. How in the world can you accuse someone of that for something so simple? People like him just make racial tensions worse. And for no reason.

That thing with the tea is mervelous. That's the kind of person I want to be. That's one of the best stories ever.

I know what you mean about how infuriating such a thing could be. People like that, they don't really want a solution, they're just looking for excuses to go off on someone and make themselves look like the victim. And it's not like you've never known discrimination. This old blues man from the 1920's once said that when he was a kid, his parents told him that everyone in Canada had one big eye, right in the middle of their forehead.
