Well I needed a reason to feel good about bein unemployed in cold weather. In warm weather I used to buy a monthly T-pass and see the world and everything in it. Now I hermit away which I guess has its benefits.

I whole-heartedly agree! That said, though, I have a few problems ultra-cold weather:
1) frozen pipes (thus no hot water);
2) dog too cold to walk outside, thus unavoidable dog poo in house; and
3) listening to other people bitch non-stop about how cold it is.

I actually like winter a great deal, and prefer it strongly over summer... but being fucking freezing isn't an entirely enjoyable experience, and listening to people bitch about it is even less so...

I don't think it's possible to envisage any kind of climate that would ever satisfy the british even for 5 minutes.
