Oooh, beautiful moments! I totally love moment #1--such a great scene. That Cody finally puts his boots on and walks right out into the rain--willingly--it's just so lovely!
And I would swear that Nick is either in tears or about to be in tears when Cody leaves (#3), which is yet again another nice piece of canon evidence about Nick not repressing his sad feelings. Love love love.
And GUH for #5. We all know Nick would do it. Hells yes. For days, if necessary.
Nice! I was going to ask about Be True to Your School, but of course it would take a whole entry. Still, #3 looks remarkably close, so it can do double duty. (And no, that wasn't intended to be a pun. It's early and I'm not awake.)
Hee! Yeah :) Also, as I think I mentioned in my picspam of that ep, I find I can watch Nick cry without too much pain when Cody's not the cause of it... That's why it only made number 5 on the list.
And for a completely different reason, If You Can't Beat Em, Join Em, because they must've known they'd been canned, and ouch.
Actually, no. In a chat (which I didn't know about at the time or I would've SO been in on it) with Thom Bray a few years ago, he said that they didn't know until weeks after they were done with season three that they'd been cancelled. In fact, he was scheduled to direct the first episode of season four!
Really? Wow. I always thought that ep was only made *because* they'd been canned - low budget, repeat clips, etc. I'll look at it a whole new way now :D
You're more than welcome, hon. When I first read that in the printout of the chat, I couldn't quite decide whether to be happy or sad that they didn't know until weeks later. Happy that they were able to go into summer vacation/hiatus with their hopes high of another season, and sad that it had to end. NBC could have just moved it to another night so it wouldn't be up against stupid Moonlighting.
I just keep coming back to the idea that Thom almost got to direct an episode like Perry! I don't remember if anybody asked him what the episode would have been about (he probably wouldn't have known, anyway), but he DID say that he'd asked to have a *light* role in that week's episode, just like Perry asked for when he directed 'Echoes'.
I am totally now thinking of a vault of unfilmed scripts, you know? Ones that were maybe approved for Season 4, and ones that weren't selected for one reason or another from the earlier seasons.
Why yes, Murray, I do intend to fly every inch of the 3-mile limit to find Cody. Do you see a problem with that? :D (Oil Bets Are Off)Hell yeah! I love that scene too. I think Murray is a bit frightened (and rightly so!) that Nick will use up every ounce of gas looking for Cody (as much as Murray loves Cody too!) and they'll smash into a mountain. Nick would totally do it too....he'd probably tell Murray to jump first though (they have parachutes on board don't they
