Because he's young or because he's emo? Cause Eccelston wasn't nearly as dishy as Tennant, but he had his own charm.

Age-gap issue, a bit too much to be safe for my personal taste. Nine was better looking than Ten IMHO, even without the imposed RoseLuv issue.
As Mr Pertwee and Ms Sladen agreed with me all those years of fandom ago, the formula contains NO SEX IN THE TARDIS and Donna/Ten was better because of that even in ironic contradiction of the expectation raised by Martha.

Except Gareth (and Ianto) is even younger than him, and that isnt a problem for anyone, so somehow I think people can get over this one - and he will be a couple years older by the time his series actually airs.

We will see! Generally I am quite impressed by BBC casting, so I'm optimistic.
