I picked up the books I have to read for Humanities today, along with the rest of my textbooks. But, dude, when I checked which titles I needed online, I seriously moaned, "NOOOOOOOOOOOO" probably way too loudly and way too many times, because I have to read Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead AGAIN and ALDFKJDAFGLDKGJSRGH NOOOOOOOO x FOREVER. I ( Read more... )

maybe you can tell the teacher that youve already read this crap and read a different book? or stab him/her in the eye with a pencil and demand it.

Why don't u just not re-read the ones u already read, just skim thru it to remember it again for tests or what not. At least that'd be what I'd do. XD

I would much rather see a picture about two homosexual men in love
This writer should watch BBM and written a review on that!

Newman and Redford are probably the two sexiest male stars in the country
Fangirl much?

I would, but you see, this teacher is reputed to be a real bitch grade-wise, and I want to keep my GPA above a 3.5. I don't want to risk my grade on memory.

This writer should watch BBM and written a review on that!
She's dead now lol, else I'm sure she would have. ;)

Fangirl much?
Hell, I know I am. XD

I had a feeling she's dead now...was about to write, "She should've been in our time and watch BBM and written a review on that!" But I changed it the last second. Lol.

Yes, pity. I would have loved to see her opinion on BBM, because most of her reviews are bitter and jaded, and wouldn't that have been an entertaining read?

ROFL. I love how I read all the negative points that this woman makes, and I'm like "WHAT THE HELL, MAN, NO WHINY HOES? THAT'S A GOOD THING."

Seriously, though, it feels like so much of the time, shallow romance is thrown into movies for the sake of not making the main guys seem as gay as they really are shallow romance. I mean, c'mon, do I really need to see another tacked-on movie ending of a poorly-developed relationship manifesting as a kiss in an absurdly impractical location?

Ugh, and I hate these people who yell about there not being enough movies with strong female characters. Well, yeah, that's usually because "strong" female characters are portrayed as overly sentimental, weak-willed pushovers who have to get over the fact that they're female as a main point in the plot before they can do anything.

And if they aren't that way, they somehow feel comfortable wearing armor bras and leather pants.

NO WHINY HOES IS DEFINITELY A GOOD THING. But I guess since she is a whiny hoe herself, she was offended that there were no whiny hoes to relate to. I see no other reason to complain, because come on, Redford and Newman and Knowing Glances is so where it's at. And hot. And she is clearly not of the right mind for missing that, and should be ashamed of herself.

On a more serious note, I am not understanding why she wanted Redford and Newman to have central (FEMALE ROFL) love interests, because it's a CON STORY. The point is to tell a story about A CON and alsdfkjlk I am so lost as to why people feel the need to sacrifice good stories by tacking on underdeveloped and completely unnecessary shallow romances. As you said, we don't need to see them. Catering mass produced stories to the public is wrong and the movie industry needs to STOP ALREADY.

YOU TOO?! XD aefallen February 24 2006, 01:28:19 UTC
I TOTALLY SLASHED BUCK AND SKIPPER. I was YES! That was the great love story of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. Tennessee Williams himself was gay, though. And even Streetcar has homosexual references - the boy Blanche loved was gay, and her outing him about it was the reason he committed suicide.

I still think Eugene O'Neill was one of the most depressing playwrights ever. But one of the best.

I'm quite thrilled by your reading selection, but that may be because I don't have to read it? *hides*

And when I read "Rosencrantz and Guildenstern", my first reaction was HAMLET?! YES!!!! Then I realised what it was. >D

Ever tried Waiting for Godot?! EXISTENTIALISM WHOA. XD

I used to love Literature a lot, and then I started studying law. *wry smile*

I love that you loved the Sting so much you went to a public library to find a review. *grin* But three boos for that writer and her wanting love interests. She's been brainwashed by mainstream Hollywood, and she doesn't even realise it.

I hated Waiting For Godot even MORE, so, well, at least I am not rereading THAT ONE.

My The Sting love is scary, and I should maybe cut down on the high. *smiles* This lady was totally brain-washed, or she was a women's rights battle-axe?
