In theory I've been writing for an hour. In truth it's been like the last 15 mins. What do I have to show for it? A mere 118 words more than yesterday. Only 1840 to go to make quota....

I'll be happy w/7k tonight.

EDIT: 7,183. how are other ppl doing? am i just not paying attention to the flist's wordcounts?

I am not participating in NaNo, but I do intend to write anyway, of my own free will. ;)

We'll see how that goes since its 11:00 pm.

NaNo helped me finish my novel. It's great stuff. I think I just need the forced deadline. Gack...I need an editor! Or just someone standing over me w/a whip....

The forced deadline is really excellent, I must admit.

You're a veteran with NaNO, and I'm slower, but as a newbie I'm super jazzed at what a little push has helped me pour out. I may not be at a glorious 7k, but dammit, I'm making great headway creatively on a novel thats been juggling in my mind for awhile.

Keep it up, champ!

And that's what I love about nano! My first three years I came nowhere near the 50k goal, but I wrote so much more than I would have done otherwise that it was totally worth "the agony of defeat." And as I was telling someone else, NaNo has helped me write great honkin' sections of my novel (doable only b/c each new section is like a new story, which is probably why I'm considering serialization, but that's a diff post). I'm glad you're getting good stuff out of the experience.
