It was a slow decline, with the crossposter that stopped working in January, and parts of the iconmaker community finally moving to DW in March... and it turned out that my flist just stopped existing. There's nobody here anymore. Huh

my experience has been different from yours
Yes. Comments were more on LJ when I first moved, but last year I got about three times as many on DW as on LJ.
And now... except for you and hamsterwoman double-posting to LJ, there are *literally* no people left on my lj flist. Only some icon challenges (that I don't regularly participate in). It's absolutely empty of content.
The iconmaker community was the main reason I kept coming to LJ, there was no chance of it moving and not dying in the process. But we've established roots on DW over the last few years, and now this year a few more comms have moved, which makes me optimistic that more old experienced makers are moving as well. It's not looking that bad so far.
