The Vampire Diaries are the best show at the moment. They rock my socks off with every episode. It's all the more alarming that I was looking forward to watching Merlin at least ten times as much as I was looking forward to TVD. Addiction is a funny thing. ;/ Good thing then that both episodes were excellent. :D

the vampire diaries ate my life :L the mindfuckery is totally awesome on that show, seriously. like, i think i know what might be going on, but i don't :L s there *anyone* on this show that Nina doesn't have to kiss? ;P I HAVE BEEN THINKING THE EXACT SAME THING. SRSLY, NINA. I AM JEALOUS.

Yes, I love that. They're really keeping the speed up so far, which is way better than I expected!

I've gotten up to 1x03 with my friend, and I think she's starting to like it, too. Yay!

Merlin really isn't right for me, at least the canon isn't. If the fandom weren't so damn amazing! :D

Avoiding the spoilers in this post, but I'm up to 1x06 now, and I'm really enjoying the show so far. It built up to the reveal, went through with it, and is now dealing with it. AWESOME. After Merlin's endless teasing with the "Merlin's magic is revealed!!! LOL just kidding", this is so enjoyable. And the plot's getting pretty awesome and tense, too.

Could you spoil me on which of the main characters get killed, though? I keep resisting getting attached to anyone in the show because I'm just waiting for them to get killed off, and that's hurting my enjoyment a little. I don't need to know how it happens or any details, but if someone I'd like gets killed I rather brace myself in advance, and if not, it would be nice to be able to relax a little.

Heee, asking for spoilers. I'm happy to oblige. I don't know when anymore, so it may be that you already know it, but Vicky dies. And Zach (Damon's and Stefan's uncle), he's not even a main character, is he? All the other main characters you know now are safe for the duration of the first season. Is that vague enough? ;)

Aww, she dies? I'm glad you told me. I thought she was dead when Damon snapped her neck, and then was delighted when she came back as a vampire. I thought we were going to get awesome n00b-vampire shenanigans, so I'm glad I know now so I don't get my hopes up in that direction.

There's a lot of that going around. *cackles evilly*

But yeah, pity about Vicky. A lot of people really liked her (me included). They purposely made her kind of mean toward the end, I think. But before that, she was a really cool character. Kind of a loose cannon, which is always fun.
