The Vampire Diaries

It's all dar_jeeling's fault. ;) She made this short post about all those vampire series out there right now. It inspired me to watch Twilight, just to make sure it's as crappy (and sparkly) as everyone wants me to believe. But then I would have had to restart my computer for that (long story, suffice to say I'm lazy ;)), so I got the Vampire Diaries instead ( Read more... )

I have someone trying to make me watch it, but I am currently settling for re watching Buffy. Much more entertaining and that way I get actual young David Boreanaz in all his 'still learning to act' glory. Oh and also some Angel who has developed comedy.

I watched a whole episode of Buffy season 1 just to get that one cap I posted above, and it was soooo good. Although I could do without the scooby gang, honestly. And I missed Spike badly. I think if I ever rewatch Buffy (and I never rewatch any of my shows, ever), I'll start with season 5. I have rewatched the musical about 5 times, does that count? :)

All in all: yes, rewatching Buffy is definitely a better use of your time than starting the Vampire Diaries. If you decide to try it after all, make sure to do it for the superficial gorgeousness. :D

I started re watching when I saw every, single main cast member of Buffy in one week on TV. I thought 'the universe is trying to tell me something.' I hadn't really seen it for about 7 years... and wow. I am glad I had the break. I've been introducing my housemates to it, and we are just about up to season 5 now, although we are now mixing and matching Angel in as well. I had forgotten so much, even just how damn funny it was. Not to mention how scary it is that one James Spader joke has come back into fashion. :P The sheer pleasure of not remembering plots is also rather nice.

(No, the musical does not count! You can listen to that as a soundtrack as well)

I have a feeling though that my idea of 'gorgeous' is not as .. clean cut as the boys in the Vampire Diaries. Hmm. Buffy it is.

it's a teen show... that's the only explanation I have. I enjoy it... For the fun and the crack ;)

Yeah, me too! I have these phases where I am totally addicted to some show and it lasts only for a few weeks, but it's really fun while it lasts. VD is just excellent crack. If I go on like this, I'll try Legend of the Seeker next. ;)

Do you have any fandom links for VD? It being a teen thing, there's really not much out there. But I'm happy just watching the pretty, too. :D
