Not a bad idea at all. Sadly, it's not the lack of ideas that kicking my ass. It's the lack of self-confidence. And between work and school by the time I sit down at my computer to write I am completely fried.
Honestly, I think I'm suffering the same fate. At the very least, my lack of ideas is caused by my lack of confidence. I might get a killer idea, but I'm so frustrated by my lack of talent that I never bother to try to remember them.
My confidence problems stem from being told for years that I wasn't good enough and that no one really cared to hear what I had to say. I'm fortunate now to have a good support system in my friends but it's hard to reverse years of damage.
Its getting to the point when I can't remember the last time I posted a piece of fanfiction on the internet, because I refuse to share anything until it's at least half finished and... nothing ever reaches that stage. For that matter, most things don't even reach the "first chapter" stage because I get too bogged down in complicated ideas and detail. Gen adventure stories are my one true love, the longer the better, and I tend not to feel confident writing them until I have worked out in my head what each character has been up to each and every year for the past twenty years! (and that's before I even decide what's happening in the new adventure...)
