Well, I thought Part Eight was a change of pace for this story. *Shrug*

One of the ideas I was using was the line "drawn to darkness" from the prophecy means DG is a magnet. Not evil and not wanting to do harm, but people with bad intentions always manage to find her when she's vulnerable.

She is definitely a magnet for trouble, that's for sure. It's and interesting interpretation of the "drawn to darkness," considering she thinks it means she's the one incorporating it into herself half of the time.

I do love it when DG stands up for herself and knocks someone unconscious. Too bad she didn't see the bigger threat coming, though. (I had to read the second-last sentence twice because I though it said 'Cain's savage face'.
