"Ow! Ow! Ow!" was the chorus as the medic sewed up Cain's shoulder. "Ow! Ow! Ow!"

"DG, I've been numbed. It doesn't hurt," he eyed her with amusement.

"You're not the one looking at it!"

"Nobody's making you look," he pointed out.

"I'm finished," the medic announced, tying him up. She collected her materials.

"Thanks," he replied, moving up.

The medic gently pushed him back down. "And where do you think you're going, Mr Cain?"

"Well, I, uh..."

"You are injured. And I'm not going to let my fine work be undone by a man with a superhero complex! You are going to stay here and rest."

"Better do as she says," one of the resistance men who had been assigned to her suggested before Cain could object. "Last time I disobeyed her, she broke my leg!"

"He exaggerates," the medic replied. "I merely numbed your legs. And I'd rather use it for wounds, but don't test me."

"I'll, eh... assume a supervisory position."

"Wise," she agreed.

"Don't worry, ma'am," Azkadellia smiled. "I'll make sure he's not going anywhere."

The medic gave her an alarmed look before finally schooling her features. "Than I needn't worry," she managed a smile. She nodded once at Cain before heading back out the door, leaving a man behind to guard the royals and their friends.

DG took one look at the hurt expression on Azkadellia before going into action. "Glitch, do know that holographic thing that showed us Cain?" she asked him delicately.

"The Trans...?"

"Yes! Yes! That thing... Can you tell me how it works...?" she went to his side and they began talking amongst themselves. Soon, Raw was invited to join in the discussion.

"It's going to take some time," Cain told Azkadellia. "For people to get used to the idea. Word of mouth has to get round. Once the dust settles, you'll be able to prove your worth."

"Cain's right," Ahamo agreed, slipping his arm around her shoulders. "Small steps."

"A joint venture," Lavender agreed, suddenly relishing the challenge. "My daughter and the O.Z. Truly one."

"A little PR mission!" DG announced excitedly, coming back from her conference. "We'll be right back."

"Can I at least help?" Cain asked plaintively.

"No!" she vanished with the two other men.

"You look tired," Ahamo suggested to his wife.

She scoffed. "I think we all do!"

"There's a bedroom," Azkadellia indicated the direction. "Down there. You should take it."

"What about you, my sweet?"

"I am... rested. The Sorceress made sure of that. Frankly, I'm a little afraid..."

"You're going to have to sleep some time," Ahamo reminded her.

She nodded gravely. "I know. But not now."

The royal couple nodded before walking out themselves. There was silence in the room. Azkadellia felt the weight of the Emerald, still around her neck and her fingers found the roughness of the gem as it continued to glow. "Lotta fuss for such a small thing," Cain spoke up, shattering the silence.

Azkadellia nodded. "It is beautiful though."

"Can it be used for... other things?"

"The... Sorceress certainly had her ideas." She sighed. "I'm sure DG will find things as well." Cain seemed almost disappointed before he nodded. "I'm so sorry, Cain," she gasped.

Cain looked at her in confusion for a second before realising. "It's ok, Princess," he told her, purposely using DG's nickname with her. "Nothing you could have done. I... I got an idea about how helpless you must have felt."

"My Gods! What have I done?" she continued to gasp, and tears started to flow from her. Cain got up and grabbed her before she fell to the ground. The worst part came when she stopped crying.
