As many have written here, Facebook has taken over and removed most people from the LJ community that used to be. It has been the same for me, and I have not written anything here in years

I keep bouncing back between LJ & FB: I use them for different functions. Of course, FB has become unbearable lately because of the election so I'm barely reading anything there.
In any case, I'm hoping to see you here more regularly.
Bill, I am feeling the same thing here in Texas. I have little social life, but in large part that's my own fault. I haven't reached out. I seem to spend so much time planning for the future and mourning the past (singing, acting, being around like-minded people), that I haven't tried to fit in here. My world is dominated by caring for my nephew. It is difficult work, but it is the best part of being in Texas. Ross lives in the moment and his love is unconditional.
I didn't realize your move to New Mexico coincided with the beginning of my caregiving job. I started working with Ross on February 6th, 2015. Bill makes a terrific point ... There is indeed a big difference between blogging on Live Journal and experiencing generalized social media. I hope you will be a more frequent visitor here again!

A bit of the same thing for me.
Hugs.
(and I never left LJ, since a blog and generalized social media aren't the same thing).
