This is an amazing drabble. Beautiful use of language to convey so much in so few words. I love the details you choose, like the blisters on his feet -- symbolic of so much for Locke.
I've always loved the little scene where he's asked if the wound on his leg hurts and he smiles when he says yes. Guess that's where the blisters idea came from :-)
WOW. I am so enamoured with this, I can't even explain. The burning of the wreckage would be such a day of independence for Locke - and Smoke crawls towards the darkened sky; souls fading... is so lyrical and stunning. I'm filing this away in the baclof my mind for sure.
Amazing. The way you used the prompt, and the imagery created here is really striking. Very in character, what with the blisters comment, since that is so like him.
