Minho was shocked to hear her ridiculous request. “Why would I do that for? You’re the one who didn’t want Yoo Geun, right?” He said, trying to suppress his anger.
“That isn’t true,” Uee murmured softly. “You see, the good-for-nothing father kidnapped Yoo Geun away from me and my family in America…”
“Why would he do that for?” Minho snapped, he wasn’t amused to hear that she called Taemin good-for-nothing.
“Geez, will you let me finish my sentence? It was an attempt to make me return to Korea, since I have no intention of staying with him…”
Minho stood there expressionless as he drowned out the noona’s voice, did he just hear right? Taemin took Yoo Geun away to make her come back to him? So, was he really just used to just help take care of Yoo Geun? Next thing he knew, his feet took off to find out the truth.
“Yah! Didn’t I say let me finish?! Were you even listening?! Aish!” Uee called out angrily.
When Minho reached the house, he rang on the doorbell. Taemin opened the door and was surprised to see him. “Oh? Is something wrong, Minho?” Taemin asked.
“You… Is it true?” Minho breathed silently. Taemin gave him a confused look. “Is it true? What Yoo Jin said about you wanting her to come back here…?”
“Eh? You talked to her? You shouldn’t believe what she says,” Taemin began to say. “Then who the hell am I suppose to believe?” Minho interrupted harshly, “Are you going to answer my question or not?”
“Uh… Well,” Taemin was being hesitant, “I do want Yoo Jin to come back here but that’s only because-”
Minho slammed his fist against the door frame which startled the younger one. “Taemin-ah?” A low voice called from inside the house, “who’s at the door?” Someone arms wrapped around Taemin’s neck, an older looking guy. This pissed Minho off, why are his hands around Taemin? Who exactly is he?
“This is Minho, hyung…” Taemin muffled shyly on the older one’s sleeve. The older smirked at Minho and pulled Taemin closer.
“Oh? The one who helps you take care of Yoo Geun?” He asked, placing his chin on the younger one’s shoulder. What the hell? Is he trying to piss me off?! Minho gritted his teeth. “Uhn,” Taemin answered as he nodded. “Minho, this is my older brother, Taesun.”
“Eh?” Minho blurted out confused, his rage calming down, “you have a brother?” Taemin answered yes and explained that Taesun is also Yoo Geun’s father.
“Wait, so he isn’t your son?”
“Nope, he’s my boy,” Taesun stepped in, still holding Taemin in his arms. “Why?”
“So you just pretty much tricked me into thinking he was your son to help you take care of him, huh?” Minho said unbelievably, “You really got me good.” Minho began to walk off.
“Wait, Minho…” Taemin called out as he began to chase after him and he grabbed his sleeve but Minho jerked away. He saw the younger boy’s hurt expression; he looked away and continued to walk off. I probably shouldn’t have done that, Minho began thinking as he walked down the dark streets. But I really don’t know, I don’t think Taemin would just use me like that. I let my anger get to me again, aish. Just got so pissed when his hyung held him like that…
Minho stopped and paused at where he stood. This just makes it seem like I’m jealous…
--
The next morning, when Minho opened the door, he was surprised to see a guest right in front of him so early in the morning. It was Taemin’s older brother and he did not seem pleased. “Yah,” Taesun said angrily, cornering him at the door frame. “Don’t think you’ll be let off easily for hurting my Taeminnie like that!”
Minho was frozen shocked to see that his brother would come all the way here to tell him this so early in the morning. “Let me tell you this, it wasn’t like Taemin hid it from on purpose,” Taesun hissed. “He had a reason to hide it from you, a pretty dumb reason, but it’s not like he can help it. After all, it’s Taemin…”
“And your point is?” Minho butted in, asking in an impatient voice.
“This little…” Taesun mumbled angrily and then he flicked Minho’s forehead. “My point is you should go apologize to Taemin and listen to what he has to say!”
While Minho walked to school, he tried to reflect on how he acted last night. Maybe he was just over-thinking things last night. As he drew closer to the school gate, he sees Taemin standing there, waiting for him, alone. Minho gulped, feeling nervous; he could hear his heart pulse through his ears. What does he have to say?
They go up to the rooftop where it’s quiet and private. The silent tension makes Minho even more nervous as he faces Taemin’s back; who was facing the fence, looking down the building. He’s waiting for the younger one to say something and he can also see that Taemin is slightly shaking.
“I-I just wanted to say sorry…” Taemin softly murmured, but it was loud enough for Minho to hear. “I didn’t mean to not tell you the whole truth.”
“Then… What did you mean to do?” Minho asked, curious to know why. He could see Taemin clenching his hands tighter. “I… Uh…” The younger one hesitantly said. “I just thought… You wouldn’t stay by my side.”
Minho’s eyes widened as his heart began to flutter… What did he just say?
