Granny died on September 4, 1993. Daddy died on June 29, 2006, the day after his 61st birthday. Aunt Tudi died on August 25, 2011. Uncle Michael died today, a little before 11 AM.
A song my Father Unit wrote and performed at both Bele Chere and Shindig on the Green, in Asheville, North Carolina in 1976. Years later, he was able to record it. Until she sent the song to me, my Stepmother Unit was the only person in possession of the song since Dad's death in 2006

I'm not certain how old I was, but it had to be somewhere near the age of three. We were living in a small single-wide trailer somewhere in Buncombe County, North Carolina, the Parental Units and I. I'm thinking this was when the Mother Unit had a second shift job. Maybe it was a third shift. Not clear on that. What I do remember for certain

Ever since my dad died in 2006, I've been having a harder and harder time when Fathers Day comes around. It's in June and my dad died on 29 June, the day after he turned 61. So the Father Unit is doing okay, better than originally thought, which is good. Right now, he and Aunt Tudi are taking a nap. Mary is making pork roast and, already, it smells heavenly. Pork isn't my friend, though, so I'll be sticking mostly with the roasted veggies
