I'm glad my San Diego explorations are helping, but I hope they don't make you too very homesick. If you ever visit here, we really need to meet! As for KC, I will always lift his torch up high, even though I've heard he's a bit of a sexist dick.
Nah. I've been gone for nearly fifteen years, and while it'll always be home, I had to teach myself to live where I *am*. I do love it here and am happy. When we can afford to move to (and live in) San Diego, I'll be extra happy. But I'm glad it's a good place for you, too.
And we are totally going to meet and have great times. Of that I have no doubt. :)
I never was able to live where I was in SC, after leaving Asheville, even though I left home in 1981 and just left SC last month. But SC is kind of like that; if you aren't a native, you pretty much exist in misery until you either escape or die.
Sorry to hear about your misfortune, but as my T-shirt states "Shit happens". Hope that you will heal properly.
"Dueling jukeboxes", that was a novelty! I certainly prefer the old-fashioned ones, with pistols for two, and breakfast for one, as in the good old days (yes, I am VERY old!).
Oh dear, what was the verdict on the knee (since I'm so late)? Thank goodness I missed the jukebox duel, but the food sounds amazing. I had forgotten Boston Cream Pie!

I'm better than I used to be, but I'm kind of always missing San Diego a bit, so I'm living vicariously through the places you go. :)
I love that you countered with KC & the Sunshine Band.
