Shortly after midnight, I was rudely awakened by Aunt Tudi urging me to get up, get dressed, and get our water hose hooked up, I needed to go wet the privacy fence in the back yard to keep the fire burning in the trailer park from spreading to us. I flew out of bed and zig-zagged to and fro before I got my bearings and rushed outside. By the time ( Read more... )

I hope the remaining pieces look better than the pre-fire eyesore...

There are plenty of those eyesores around here & what amazes me is that people live in some of them...

Mr. Grizzle would still be over there if he hadn't been removed by the authorities. He's the reason why I have so many cats now. He came with like a dozen cats and just set them loose on the hill. They were sick and hungry, so there you go.

grrrrr.... Yea I'm part of that animal club - 4 cats, 2 horses, 2 dogs - all rescues... only two I actually *picked*

I wish I knew who dumped them all - I'd like time alone for a very needed beating...

Thanks. It's times like this that make me wish I'd had a bag of marshmallows and a 20-foot fire-proof stick.

Question from Nosey Me janalyson August 1 2008, 00:37:37 UTC
If that was Tudi, what was it she had since 1997 that she was gonna give to someone (you?)? You can hear it at the end of the video.

It was a magic marble kaleidescope that she bought for Blake in 1997. During that time, he and his mom (my cousin Johnna) were in a transitional period, and he asked Aunt Tudi to hold the toy for him until he was better settled. He's always been a wise child. He's 15 or 16 years old now and was as thrilled to see the kaleidescope as he was when Aunt Tudi gave it to him 11 years ago. A sentimental moment smack dab in the middle of a destructive nightmare.
