Gnomes to the front!

So, Green Regent. It seems pretty broken. Our party of gnomes (I'm Sparkle the cleric) who blow things up encountered a human in a bar who cheated when we gambled. We beat him up and got a bag of many hundreds of gold pieces. Of course we could only use them for the adventure, but still! We spent them on a very expensive hotel room and some ( Read more... )

It was indeed a bunch of fun. :) I got to make up a bunch of street thugs attracted by Sparkle jingling a big bag of gold in a street in the bad part of town. PLUS we rolled their equipment randomly, and in the past I've always planned that stuff out carefully.

An entire party of gnomes with gunpowder was a whole lot of fun, though you guys didn't accomplish much of the module. Next time I want to play. :)

My only disappointment is that we didn't get to roll on the potion miscibility table. I've always wanted to do that. :)

If you want potion miscibility then you gotta mix some potions! I had the table there and ready, but as far as I could tell you guys never got around to actually mixing them.

I did everything I could to die in that particular adventure (my approach to Green Regent, because death really isn't all that much of a hindrance)...

And I failed miserably. I fell unconscious five times, and came really close to death, but never actually crossed the finish line.

Sigh. Stupid party members kept saving me. Damn them.

The joyful thing about running Green Regent is that you can just do whatever you want. The party can wander off and fight bad guys you make up, gain any loot you feel like distributing, and essentially have the events tailored to what's fun for them. None of this unbalances the campaign or gives anyone an unfair advantage in the long run.

I wouldn't want Green Regent as my main campaign, but it's a lot of fun as an occasional lark.
