Except for this. It just hit me right where it felt the most. The combination of a subject matter very close to me and those adorable ponies just pushed me over the edge. So I had so share. Yes, that was a bit of a misunderstanding on my part at first. Taking Spock as the authority on everything because he's usually correct about all facts in TOS ( longtime Trekker here too! ) wasn't necessarily right for nuTrek. I thought since he said Khan wanted to exterminate inferior people, and "Spock is always right", that they'd changed canon for nuTrek. ( Have to make sure people really understand how bad he is and cheer when he's defeated, right? Nope, didn't work out that way with me..! ;-) But yes, it totally makes sense that Spock would only know the general history of the Eugenics Wars ( and history is written by the winners, remember... ) and not know that Khan was different.
Some of the novels? Are you talking about Greg Cox' trilogy? I own those books but haven't read them yet because I wanted to wait until I'd read the upcoming Khan comic ( sooo loking forward to this one! ) first. I see classic Khan and nuKhan as two slightly different ( ... )
