I read Discount Armageddon last month & loved it too! You have to read her 'October Daye' series, it's also very good, although a little more intense than Discount was.
I still haven't read any of the Anna/Charles stories from Patricia Briggs, but I'm hoping to get the first one ( a short story, I think?) from the library soon.

I tried her October series, but I'm just not that into fairies at the moment.

OMG, you so have to read Anna and Charles' stories. First one is a novella in "On the Prowl". Definitely give it a try!
