well, the thinkable happened. my computer is toast. i brought it in today and it'll be over $300 to fix IF they can find the part they need for an old computer like mine. i have to buy a new one. i'll have $217 toward it from allendale left over from my $500 i started with last year. that'll help, but not much. i'm expecting to spend about $ ( Read more... )

my mom's gateway 2000 from 1999 is still kicking. a friend gave us a new screen, but other than that the beast still works. you should NOT buy a computer. now wouldn't that be rebellious?

kidding, my ibook is super duper. have you tried ebay? you may be able to get an ibook g4 (the one i have) for way cheap since they've got the macbooks now.

first, this happened to my computer probably in january, and i haven't bought a new one yet. that's rebellious. i think my roommates don't appreciate this rebellion/me being poor though. it's probably time i get one of my own.

i saw some of the g4s on craigslist...but that still weirds me out.

ebay is weird too, but at least the user has a rating. and most of the users selling them (ibooks) probably get them in bulk or something. good luck, time for work!

i have my crappy old desktop computer if you want something for a bit, it's slow and kinda crappy but it works.
