We got ours at Target, and they were about $15 per panel 5 years ago. I like the curtains over the shades, because they have heat retaining properties, too, but I think the shades do give a more complete blackout, because they are flush against the window (light does glow around the gaps at the edges of the curtains). I'm in the market for more, again, because I think I'm going to get new curtains for the girls' room and take the boring gold curtains for other rooms in the house. I'll let you know if I strike gold!
Just read your ETA - It's still a good idea to start looking now. It only takes the sun a month to catch back up to the time change. But, yay for buying some time!
There don't seem to be a lot of choices for prints/patterns in blackout curtains, but if I get these, then I can just buy (or make) pretty curtains that the girls like, and not worry about their room-darkening properties.
Good idea. We have blinds and medium weight curtains on the windows already, but I think we need something more effective with Robyn in the room. I think I'll switch out a pair of the Eclipse curtains for now and save our other curtains for when the room is just ours again :)
