The Master was standing close by, arms wrapped around himself. He was chewing on his lip and swaying slightly, seemingly lost in thought. He nodded without turning to the Doctor.

"Sure sure to see good Lu," he mumbled.

The Doctor snorted. "Good isn't the word I'd use to describe her," he muttered, craning his neck to glance at the monitor again.

Lucy looked up sharply when she heard the familiar noise of the TARDIS's time rotor from somewhere outside. Well. So the Doctor had relented after all. Walking over to the window, she twitched open the curtains, looking down at the street. It took her a moment, but there it was, the blue box looking tiny from this height, the light on top glowing steadily ( ... )

The Doctor's hearts sank at the knock on the TARDIS door. Well, there it was, and as much as he hated to use these sorts of phrases, there was no going back now. He glanced at the monitor once more, and there she was, standing there waiting expectantly.

He sighed. "Well, no time like the present," he decided. He strode over to the TARDIS door and opened it.

"You took your time getting here," he said lightly, eyebrows raised in amusement.
