[RP for brigadiertardis]: Let my love throw a spark, and have a little faith in me.

Things had seemed pleasantly quiet recently, which the Doctor decided to take full advantage of as expeditiously as possible. The trouble was, he wasn't at all certain how to best make use of the time. The only thing he did know for certain was that he wanted to treat his TARDIS to something he thought she might enjoy, something a bit out of the ( Read more... )

The Doctor's exuberance most certainly did not go unnoticed, though the reasoning behind his excitement was lost on the TARDIS as she accepted the coordinates with a curious hum. She assumed, as she was wont to do, that his sudden agitation and need to explore were the result of some event or another occuring on his favourite planet, or perhaps a remembered companion he hadn't visited in some while. He was prone to fits of nostalgia when little was going on; it would not surprise her to appear somewhere during Earth's mid-20th Century to pop in unexpectedly on a handful of his favourite humans.

Still, curiosity got the best of her, as it often did, as she examined the coordinates. And what will make this one any different than the others? she queried. Has something unexpected occurred?

Nothing at all has occurred yet, that's precisely the point, the Doctor's smile hadn't diminished whatsoever as he answered her. Something will occur, but we have to get there first. In order to engender a wonderful event, I sometimes have to help things along a bit, as you know.

He was more than happy to remain as mysterious as possible for as long as possible. At last, his hands came up from her console, coming together gleefully as he clapped them once in satisfaction.

This trip is entirely for you, TARDIS, he finally admitted, his exuberant grin mellowing into a softer, warmer smile.

For me? she asked, mentally probing at him, trying to uncover what secrets she could as they travelled to the coordinates he'd imputed. I do not understand. What will occur? How will this be any different than the hundreds of thousands of places we've visited together in the past?

A part of her knew asking the questions was all but moot, as the Doctor was not one to give up his secrets easily, especially in this incarnation, but another part of her, the part that was curious as he, could not help but question and wonder and ponder on how he might make this trip any different than the last. Or how he would, in fact, make it for her. Did he intend on upgrading her, perhaps? Perhaps a repair shop?

The idea had certainly crossed both their minds and it seemed a logical enough choice, so she made no secret of her own desires in regards to repairs.

I do not want the chameleon circuit fixed, she told him, expecting him to understand. All else is eligible for work, but not that.

The Doctor almost laughed at that, but drew upon all of his strength to prevent any sound of amusement from escaping his mouth; he was adamant about keeping this a surprise until the very last moment, after all. Heading towards her doors in preparation for their impending landing, the Doctor reached for his umbrella, swinging it nonchalantly on his arm.

Not to worry, I've already thought of that. We'll be there shortly, and all will be well. In fact, it will be superb, if I do say so myself.
